**A MUST READ FROM A FAN*

I find confusing and irritating however, the way producer Kat Goodson handles Daddygate on Twitter. I'm usually against pointing fingers, but it's a public twitter account where she clearly states her association with The Blacklist. So it's not simply some private place where she shares private thoughts, by having "co-producer of @NBCBlacklist" in her description and regularly tweeting about the show I see her as someone whose Blacklist specific tweets represent the show as much as the Blacklist tweets of other producers and writers. And as such she is very outspoken about what exactly she thinks about people believing that Red is Liz's father. She is sarcastic about them and regularly retweets fans (who all happen to be Lizzington shippers) making fun of or being rude to "daddygaters". To me the most offensive one was someone tweeting in response to her "people still believe Red is Liz's father" stuff: "Even duct tape can't fix the stupid. But at least it can muffle the sound." facepalm - which Kat Goodson favorited and retweeted.

I generally abhor these flaming fandom wars, where one or more groups think they know the truth and nothing but the truth and everyone who isn't of the same opinion must be persuaded or called names if this doesn't work. However it's clear that something like that always happens among some fans, especially with a show as mysterious as The Blacklist. People just have different opinions/perception/theories. Some might appear plausible, some might appear weird or outlandish to me. I like this board because although people here have different opinions I haven't seen it yet get totally out of hand. And never would I think that someone, who has a perception of the show that is contrary to mine, is any less of a fan! Because what we all have in common: We love the show or at least certain aspects of it!

What's new to me is a producer taking clear sides in a warring fandom and I don't understand it. For me it's very different than the usual fan fights because she is directly connected to the show. It makes it somehow... official. Like that's the official stance of the people behind The Blacklist. So why alienate some fans with basically calling them stupid? Or make them feel they are "lesser fans" because they still like the idea of Red being Liz's father? Are only certain parts of the fandom with a very specific idea of theRed-Liz-relationship worthy? Should the rest stop watching the show because they obviously don't get it anyway?

If I were a producer every single viewer would be appreciated. Everyone who tunes in on Thursday or buys the series on amazon or watches it on Netflix or whatever would be welcome. Everyone, who becomes emotionally invested in the characters, who likes the clues and riddles, who even spends a bit of their valuable time making theories would be a success to me, if I were one of the makers of the show. Even people, who might watch it and think that Liz is Red's mom and the romantic endgame will be her and Ruslan Densiov. tongue emoticon In the end they are all fans.
