Liz will learn she is pregnant in season 3. Here's how I justify this prediction. 1.) Liz and Tom were almost successful in adopting a baby in season 1. 2.) Liz chose to adopt for personal reasons and not because she can't have children. There is nothing wrong with her reproductive system. The writers made this fact very clear. 3.)Tom wanted a marriage and baby with Liz despite his "Tom Bond" lifestyle. When he was kidnapped by the skin head group, they found the ultrasound photo in his belongings. Tom apparently had an emotional connection to the picture and kept it with him all the time. There was also the recording of Tom telling the adoption agency that Liz would be a great mother. I believed his sincerity. 4.) There have been many scenes that show Liz still longs to be a mother. One such scene showed Liz peering at a new born through a window in the maternity ward of the hospital where she was being treated for a virus. 5.) Tom and Liz have sex in the season two finale. It wasn't just sex. The writers went to great lengths to show that Liz and Tom are still in love. That was a very passionate scene...one that could produce a child through their love. 6.) Tom has begun to redeem himself against Red's intense hatred for him. There were many situations in the last few episodes of Season 2 that demonstrated his desire to move his life into a very different direction and leave his shady past in the past. Sure he picked up a gun or two to support Red's side of things but what could finally change Red's opinion of Tom? Perhaps it will be Liz and Tom's child. Maybe it will be Tom's decision to not abandon Liz and the baby. Red has many regrets and not being present for his family (Who ever that family may be...Liz? Jennifer? His wife?) appears to be his greatest regret. It would make sense that Red would not want the child to be without a family unit and taking Tom out of that equation would hurt the child and Liz. Also, we know Red saved a man (Tom) he hated in order to save Liz. That proves Red is able to put his feelings aside to support Liz's best interest. Red is tired of causing Liz pain and it is his biggest regret. The child could be the tie that binds the three together.
