Impostor

I assume some of my fellow group members have read my "The Red we know isn't the real Red Reddington" theory. I theorize that Liz shot the real Reddington the night of the fire. A second man was there the night of the fire. This person took on the identity of Red Reddington. I also believe the man who took on the real Reddington's identity is Liz's biological father. In the pilot, Ressler describes the real Reddington as ruthless, only loyal to the highest bidder. Ressler describes Reddington as being in the Navy...groomed to be Admiral. The present day Red preaches, "Loyalty above all else." He is also loyal to the people in his life...Liz, Naomi, Dembe etc. The Red we know and love doesn't fit Ressler's description of the real Reddington with the exception of being labeled a criminal. Ponder this..............

In the pilot episode, the very first line of dialogue, Mr. Grey says to Red, "It must be good to be home again, Sir." He says this to Red before he walks into the FBI building to turn himself in. Home is the FBI? I don't recall anything being mentioned about Red working for the FBI. I've heard Navy and possibly intelligence. Not FBI!!! Is impostor Red an FBI agent? I have always theorized that someone very high up knows impostor Red is secretly working for the government and that his mission was/is to fracture the cabal. I also find it interesting it's the very first line of the series. Was that our first major clue that supports this theory? Was it dismissed because it was the first line of the series?

Here's another question. Liz asked Tom where he got his fake passports that were government issued. Did Tom confirm to Liz that Red provided them? I know he revealed that Red hired him to look after Liz but I can't recall if he told her who gave him the passports. If Red didn't give passports to Tom...who did? How was Red able to get government issued passports? Most would assume that Red knows enough important people to get them for Tom but what if it's the higher up person provided them because it was all part of the mission.Skeptical? Check this out!!! The following excerpts were taken from the original pilot script written by Jon Bokenkamp. This script contains info that was scrapped from the final draft of the episode."Red steps from the car. Finds himself standing in the shadowof a daunting concrete structure. He looks up, delighted tosee the words etched in the facade: J. Edgar Hoover Building. Red strides through the lobby with purpose. He’s been here before. Belongs here."INSIDE FBI...."Red CLASPS HIS HANDS behind his head. Closes his eyes. TheGuard calls for backup, but before she can muster the words ---- ALARMS SOUND. METAL CURTAINS drop over the windows. The entire F.B.I. goes into ‘LOCKDOWN’ as F.B.I. POLICE swarmRed, WEAPONS drawn and SCREAMING into their radios. But Red’s calm. Proud perhaps. As he’s thrown to the groundhis expression tells us this is a day Red has anticipated foryears. We DRIFT UP, over the chaos, past the American flag. The F.B.I.’s NUMBER FOUR MOST WANTED has just surrendered."RESSLER IN DESCRIBING REDDINGTON...."His military background would leadyou to believe he’s some sort ofspy, but he’s not."
