Director's weakness?

I just thought of something that may explain why Red sent Mr. Kaplin to hire Vanessa Cruz in season 2. The director definitely took a look at Samar's assets in Sir Crispen. Perhaps it was intentional to show the director has a weakness for good looking woman. Perhaps the director will have a weakness for Vanessa Cruz.
