Sir Crispen

What do frozen thumbs, a billionaire in an air plane, a fight club, pastry shop and a Ronald Reagan quote have in common? Episode 6, "Sir Crispin Crandall". The Blacklist has been a pure adrenaline rush for episodes 4 and 5...and that's how I like it. I suppose it's good to slow things down every once in a while as long as the story remains captivating. Episode 6...didn't captivate me til the very end and even that fell flat. I'm simply not going to write much about this episode with the hope things will speed up for the two episodes remaining before the fall break. - Seems the writers are deliberately trying to show us that Red isn't always right and on top of his game. Last week, we saw Red totally duped by slime-ball Vargas. Honestly, I was disappointed to see Red let himself be put in such a dire situation with not much wiggle room. I was disappointed in him and for the first time. Red also took a misstep withe the building inspector in Episode 6. We all expect Red to be the intellectual winner...I'm not sure I enjoy seeing him so venerable. In the end of episode 6, Red is back in control...where he always belongs. - Tom's journey to finding Karakurt left more to be desired. All that work and he essentially catches the guy with little effort. In fact, we weren't allowed the aspect of surprise on just how he would capture Karakurt...he narrated it before it happened. BOO!!! Just way too lack luster. - Poor Asher Sutton...and why are we supposed to care? We didn't even know him. - Crandall quoted Ronald Reagan in the opening scene. "Slipped the surly bonds of earth" to "touch the face of God." It was the last line of Reagan's speech following the space shuttle Challenger explosion in 1986.

Sorry guys...this episode simply did not do it for me. What are your thoughts?
